'EASY METHOD' FOR 'PERFECT JAMMY EGGS EVERY TIME' IN JUST SIX MINUTES

are a weekend favourite, whether you're serving them up on toast for breakfast or boiling them to go into a lunch salad. However, getting your boiled eggs exactly right can be tricky. One creator says she has discovered a much "easier" way to get "perfect jammy eggs" than the usual way of boiling them.

She says her method even makes it easy to peel your eggs without having to put them in an ice bath.

Jackie Hartlaub shares and tips on her TikTok page @lowcardstateofmind. In her "perfect jammy eggs" video, Jackie explained: "I always used to feel like hard or soft boiling eggs was such a chore because you have got to get a pot out, wait for the water to boil, do the ice bath, peel it. It's just such a chore."

However, she says her alternative recipe is a "much easier method". Jackie continued: "I only get a couple of inches of water boiling and I cook them just like that with the lid on for six minutes on medium heat.

"Then when they're done I skip the ice bath I rinse them under cold water for 30 seconds because I want to eat them hot. That's another reason I don't like the ice bath because then you have to eat cold eggs."

The length of time cooking the eggs combined with a quick rinse under the cold tap means that the recipe offers gooey yolk which is almost "jammy" in texture. Jackie says the eggs are best served on a slice of toast.

"This is seriously my favourite breakfast right now," she added. "Soft-boiled eggs, toast and some salt. And every once in a while, I will throw on some garlic chilli oil and green onion."

Some chefs recommend letting your boiled egg sit in a bath of ice water to make it easier to peel the egg with minimal effort, though as Jackie pointed out this does mean eating your boiled egg cold.

Chef Christopher Kimball, one of the founders of America's Test Kitchen and Cook's Country, as the head of the magazine, podcast, TV Show and cooking school 177 Milk Street also shared his hack suggesting that an.

"The trick here is a big ice bath for three minutes. Get the inside of the egg to get smaller, pull away from the shell and now it's going to be easy to peel," he said in his own TikTok video.

The chef added: "There we go, finally the holy grail is boiling them for eight minutes for 40 seconds and put them in a big ice back for three minutes. And every egg, not 80 percent, not 90 percent, every egg is going to be easy to peel."
